What do you do and why is it important?

I am working as a Logistics Planner in the U.S., Pennsylvania.

This function represents a link between Production and Sales and ensures full and effective utilization of the factory’s capacity while satisfying the customer needs.

What is your team like?

My team consists of great people with high spirits and strong commitments, who make sure that the pieces of supply chain “puzzle” fit together.

How have you developed in your role?

My role has helped me to develop a deep understanding of the product supply chain, internal goals of each department and their alignment with the customers´ needs. Personally, I have improved my planning and organizing skills which are essential for the work in Logistics.

What is the best thing about your job?

The best thing about my job is the dynamic work environment, which provides me with the challenges and opportunities to foster my creativity and individuality.

What has been your most rewarding project so far?

Every project I work on rewards me with a feeling of mastery and purpose. I especially enjoy working on process improvement projects which give me opportunities to develop solutions to organizational concerns. Besides getting the deep knowledge and understanding of the analyzed processes, it brings me closer to the people who do the work and operate the plant.

What is the international environment like?

Being exposed to the different cultures and viewpoints makes my job even more interesting. It helps to broaden my mind, accept different approaches that may not be typical in other countries and increase my independence.

What does your future look like?

For the future I plan to travel 72 countries of the world and learn Spanish.

Why would you recommend Prysmian to a young talent?

Prysmian Group represents a world of opportunities. It’s a truly international company where you collaborate with the top professionals from all over the world. As a young talent you are highly encouraged to bring your perspective and implement your ideas. You get a full professional support from your mentor who acts as your “Career Godfather” and helps you to integrate into a dynamic business world. No matter if you are an engineer or a business graduate; you get deep insights into both fields due to a very specific nature of the cable manufacturing industry. Job rotation, trainings, assignments, and a full recognition of your potential are some other attributes of the Graduate Program that contribute to both your personal and professional development. I cannot think of anything better that the company could offer you.

Francesco Fanciulli, CEO Central East Europe, has been Martina’s mentor since she joined the company.

Francesco, which are Martina’s skills and how a young talent could contribute to the business?

Since the very beginning of her experience, Martina appeared very “hungry to learn” not only in respect of the key business drivers for succeeding within our working model, but also on how to better interact with her colleagues and create those positive and constructive working relationships highly recommended for progressing within a teamworking environment.

The enthusiasm and positive energy coming from the new graduates joining our teams, represent always a further stimulus for the senior management to look at the various business issues under a different perspective, following sometime new interesting ideas coming out from a fresh mind not still influenced by the consolidated ways of looking at the business scenarios.
