What do you do at Prysmian?

I’m currently working in the headquarters Consolidated Financial Statements team which is part of the administration function. I’m responsible for the reporting package of the ASEAN and China area and also for helping prepare the consolidated financial statement notes on equity investments, assets held for sale, tangible and intangible assets, construction contracts and related party transactions. I’m also involved in a number of projects, such as acquisition and merger case analysis, corporate reorganisation project etc.

The work I’m now doing is a perfect match for my academic background and is absolutely my dream job. I love the working environment and I enjoy the work more and more with every passing day.

3 adjectives to describe your experience @Prysmian Group

I would say life in Prysmian is challenging, growing and vivid:

Once you decide to join Prysmian, you will be offered plenty of opportunities to try different areas, to acquire new knowledgeto get out of your comfort zone, and to broaden your horizons. All of these will give you unique competitive advantages in your career.

Here you will find yourself surrounded by helpful, supportive and welcoming colleagues, always ready to teach and guide you. You can learn a lot from their experience.

Sharing of knowledge is our corporate culture.

And joining Prysmian also means you’ll meet colleagues from all over the world. You’ll have the chance to experience different cultures, meet different people and experience a totally different lifestyle.

What do you like most about Prysmian?

The thing I like most about Prysmian is its corporate culture. It’s a very diversified and inclusive company.

No matter what your nationality, gender or anything else, here you always feel that you’re a member of the group.

This makes it easy to start your international assignment even if you’re being posted to a country with a totally different culture, where you’ll no doubt enjoy a unique work experience.

What is the best thing about your job?

The best thing about my job is that I have the chance to see the business from different points of view thanks to rotation between departments and jobs at different levels of the organisation. It’s rare to get this kind of opportunity in other companies at such an early stage in your career.

The first-year job rotation in the R&D, operations, and sales departments was quite a big challenge for someone like me with a background in economics. But I now realise that this kind of experience has given me a deep all-round vision of my current work.

For the two-year international assignment, I was very lucky to be posted to the HQ administration department, where I’ve had the opportunity to be involved into several group-level projects. This has helped me jettison a narrow field of vision, and to develop a strategic mindset.

Why would you recommend Prysmian to a young talent?

Prysmian values young talents. It gives you plenty of time and opportunities to learn while working. Here, not only do you have a top manager acting as your mentor to give you valuable guidance, but also you have the chance to develop your own project to realise your ambitions. If you are someone who likes challenges and wants to experience work that keeps giving you momentum and passion, the Graduate Program is a great opportunity to start your career.
